FAQs

Q1: How long will it take to get my CDL?

A: The ProDriver curriculum is available online, allowing you to progress through the course at your own pace. There is a six-month period to complete it, starting from the time you pay for the course. Most students finish within three to four months, although some complete it much quicker, while others may wait until the final weeks to finish.

Q2: Is there a set number of hours or miles I need to graduate?

A: No. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has no set minimum number of miles or driver hours to graduate.

Q3: How do I do my Behind-the-Wheel training?

A: You will work with your sponsoring company to train behind the wheel. Once you have your permit, you can drive with a qualified driver at your place of employment.

Q4: What makes ProDriver better than a traditional school?

A: We are less expensive, faster, and all of our assessors have been vetted and trained to the National Safety Council standards. ProDriver is as close to “old school” training as you can get while still meeting FMCSA’s Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements implemented in 2022!

Q5: What if I need extra help?

A: ProDriver is here to assist you! We typically respond in less than 24 hours for any online curriculum-based questions.

If you have needs with driving, don’t worry! Our assessors not only assess your driving but give tips and guidance throughout your assessment.

Keep in mind you will do most of your driving and training with a qualified person at your sponsor company. Assessors from ProDriver do just that; they assess. If some guidance is needed, they are happy to help. If you need more practice, we will let you know so you can continue with your sponsor company before taking the state CDL exam.

Q6: Do I need to speak English?

A: Yes. According to the FMCSA regulations, you must be able to read and understand the English language.

Q7: Do I need my permit to start?

A: No! We are going over that material in the video training! Additionally, you will receive a Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) permit book to read, markup, highlight, study and keep for future reference!
